and those who have limited mobility and strength.




OVERALL GOAL

To help total yoga beginners learn the fundamentals of yoga. By the end of the course, participants will have gained more flexibility, mobility and strength through gentle movements and exercises. This course does not include challenging poses.


COURSE DESCRIPTION

This online course has been created for total beginners. We study and practice yoga from the ground up - including  yoga history, philosophy, 6 breathing techniques, a 15 minute gentle yoga warm-up that you can do as a stand-alone every day, spinal stretching/conditioning poses, hip stretching/conditioning poses, leg stretching/conditioning poses as well as studying and practicing every pose in a Sun Salutation A.


With this course you will learn:


  • safe and gentle yoga movements and poses
  • gradually gain mobility, strength and mental focus
  • be able to go practice a Sun Salutation by yourself
  • reduce tension and tightness
  • mindfulness to calm the mind and reduce stress
  • teach you yoga history & philosophy



COURSE OUTCOME

This 4 class course allows participants to safely and gently improve their physical condition while learning basic yoga poses, movements and exercises. With a sustained yoga practice, we are also able to calm the mind, reduce stress and lead a more wholesome life.
